Angus Lost Lapbook Activities

  1. D Envelope Book
    Learn about the letter D with this envelope fold book. D is for doll, dinosaur, door, and (of course!) dog.
  2. Cave Positional Words
    Teach your preschool student the positional words in and out with this activity. Your student will be able to manipulate Angus to put him IN the cave and to put him OUT of the cave.
  3. Dog Breeds Layer Book
    Introduce the idea of different dog breeds to your student. Check out some books from the library about various dog breeds and read them with your student. Can your student find Angus in any of the dog breed books?

    You could also go to the pet store and discuss different breeds with the workers.
  4. What Color Is Angus? Simple Fold
    Angus is black. What items in your home are black? Go on a black scavenger hunt and then count the number of black items that you found.
  5. Taking Care of Dogs Mini-book
    Teach your preschooler about simple pet care. You might want to check out some books from the library on pet care.
  6. Sorting Dog Legs Pockets
    Does Angus have short legs or long legs? Let your child use the sorting dogs and pockets to sort the legs.
  7. Dog Lotto Game
    Work on visual discrimination and have fun playing a game together!
  8. Dog Rhymes
    Read “Old Mother Hubbard” and “Rags” with your student. You may want to discuss rhyming words, and you may want to memorize one of the rhymes together.
