Enjoy homeschool science with this free backyard birds lapbook.
This unit study allows your student to research the birds in your backyard: scientific classification of birds, bird behaviors, bird predators, bird diet, bird anatomy, and more! This lapbook project even includes a bird log for your student to track birds he sees.
When my oldest son became super interested in birds, I created this Backyard Birds Lapbook for him. I hope your students will enjoy it, too.
Backyard Birds Lapbook Instructions
This animal lapbook is unique; it is not set up like our other animal lapbooks.
You can use it with any birds that you find in your backyard. All you need is a good bird guide, and some observation skills.
I printed all of the templates so my son could pick and choose the ones he wanted to use for each bird. He added a few extras, too (as you can see when you look at the photos). I love it when students customize their lapbooks and notebooks by adding their own ideas.
He used a notebook and designed one page for each bird he wanted to learn about.
