Climate: Because Ecuador has different land regions, it has many different climates. Ecuador is tropical along the coast and in the Amazonian jungle lowlands; it is cooler inland and in the mountains.
Land Regions:
Ecuador hosts four different land regions.
1. The Andes Mountains
The mountains run through the center of Ecuador, and they are known as the Avenue of the Volcanoes which is home to the world’s tallest active volcano, Chimborazo.
2. The Coast
The coast borders the Pacific Ocean and is home to Ecuador’s shrimp industry and some popular beaches.
3. The Eastern Jungle
Here you will find part of the Amazon jungle which houses 1,500 species of birds and more than 400 different kinds of trees.
4. The Galapagos Islands
The islands are found off of the coast of Ecuador. Some of the most unique animals of the word can be found in the Galapagos Islands.
