How to Use the Farm Finger Puppets

You can use a variety of songs and finger plays with this set of finger puppets. Consider some of these songs and rhymes:

You can also use the farm animal puppets to invent and tell stories together. You could retell a story like The Little Red Hen using the puppets; you could even swap out the traditional animals and choose whichever animals you want to use instead. Similarly, you could retell Cinderella or The Emperor’s New Clothes using the animals instead of people.

How to Assemble the Farm Animal Puppets

Assemble the farm animal puppets by following these simple instructions:         

  1. Print the puppets on cardstock.
  2. If desired, laminate the puppets for durability.
  3. Cut out the puppets.
  4. Fit a puppet to your child’s finger and use tape to secure it. (You can also use glue, but tape might be easier to manage.)
  5. Have fun playing with the puppets.

The file also includes a farm themed background. If desired, make a puppet stage out of a cereal box and use the background page with it.
