How to Use the If You Give a Pig a Pancake Printable
The shape matching printable is simple to use.
- Decide if you want to use the color pages or the black and white pages.
- Print the activity pages for your student.
- If using the color version, laminate the pages in order to make them reusable.
- Review the shapes on the pages.
- Give your student a pencil or dry erase marker.
- Help your student make a line from the shape pig to the corresponding shape pancake.
The goal of this If You Give a Pig a Pancake shape matching activity is to locate a shape on the left side of the page and then to find the same shape on the right side of the page. Draw a line from one to the other and match the pig to the pancake.
You can encourage your student to get the job done by pretending that the pigs are hungry and they need to eat! “Can you help feed the pigs pancakes?”

These shapes matching pages promote shape recognition. You can also use them to boost fine motor skills. Students will use fine motor skills to draw lines from the pig shapes to the pancake shapes.

If you want to reuse the set, simply put the page in a dry-erase pocket and let your student use a dry erase marker.
