How to Play Go Fish
Deal each player five cards. Spread out the rest of the deck face down. It should be between the players. This is the “ocean” of cards from which the players will go fish.
Each player takes a turn in clockwise order (to the player’s left). During a turn a player asks another player if they have a particular type of card. For example, a player may ask Simon if he has any circles. If Simon has any circles, then he must give all of them to the player asking. If he does not, he says, “Go fish!” When a player does this, they take a card from the ocean. If the player gets the cards they asked for (from Simon or from the ocean), the player gets another turn.
If the player gets all four animals of the same shape, then they can put the cards face up in front of them. For example, if you already had a square jellyfish and a square stingray, and you get a square shark and a square clown fish from another player, then you get to put the set down and you get another turn.
Go Fish is over when one player runs of out of cards or there are no more cards in the ocean. The winner is then decided by who has the most matches.
